IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please read

Families using our Vacation care services and wish to claim Government Child Care Subsidy must complete the setup of the MyXplor parent hub, confirm your complying written agreement & confirm booking in your MyGov site prior to the start of the holidays. Each of these steps must be completed before children can attend any of our OOSHC services.

While we try to be as flexible and accommodating to families needs as we can, No bookings will be taken after the cutoff dates,
December bookings need  be in Thursday 2nd   December 2021
January 2022 bookings Monday 13th December 2021

Vacation care will be a busy fun time. We remind Parents/Carers that you need to send your child/ren with enough food to last them the whole day. We do offer some extra cooking activities and some afternoon teas these are an extra not a replacement of your child’s daily meals. Children need a balanced and nutritional diet to grow and play.

As per Government Regulations we are obliged to give preference to those using Vacation Care for work related purposes.

All bookings MUST come through the Office. In the past few holiday periods there have been some problems re children being booked in, not turning up and fees not being paid. As a result we will have to be stricter in future. Swapping will not be possible. Once you have booked for a day, you are required to pay for that day, even if you do not attend. If you want to add an extra day, you may do so if space is available, and any bookings for extra days must be made through the centre office. OOSHC staff cannot take such bookings and will refer you to contact the office.

Any family with debt unpaid to Rainbow will not be able to book for vacation care until the debt has been paid. If you have an unpaid debt and you wish to book for the Sept/Oct VC please bring a completed enrolment form to the Centre and see Jodie, Rhiannon or Jayne and pay your arrears and pay for your new booking in advance.

At Rainbow we will make minimal use of electronic media during VC. We will not have a computer and TV/video will be restricted to days when such activity is specifically planned, or days when inclement weather keeps children indoors for long periods. We want children to be actively engaged with sports, games and social activities; although of course we allow a child to undertake more solitary or quiet activity if that is their preference.

Children are required to take responsibility for their own belongings in the Vacation Care Programs. We advise against children bringing expensive items (e.g. electronic games) that may go astray within a large group. All hand held games are to be given to staff to put in safe place.

While staff will assist and support children, we anticipate that school age children will demonstrate a higher level of independence in looking after their own belongings.

We want vacation care to be a fun and safe place for your child/ren to attend we will not tolerate any antisocial behaviors (ie fighting, swearing and bullying) we will give one written    warning if the behavior continues you and your child will have to meet with me (Leonie Crowe OOSHC Co-coordinator) to discuss why your child should remain enrolled in our vacation care program.

Vacation Care is meant to be an enjoyable holiday break for children. We reserve the right to refuse, limit or restrict the enrolment of children who persistently demonstrate aggressive, anti social or bullying

Parents

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and all of the wonderful staff at Rainbow for the care you provide Ivy and Leo.

Over the past year Ivy has flourished under the care of the amazing carers in the Pippi room. She adores coming to daycare, it is one of her happy and safe places. She has made many friends, particularly over the past few months and we are delighted with how happy and content she is in the environment.

I would also like to give thanks to the carers in the Possum room for the kindness and support they have provided to Leo.

Finally, I would like to thank your staff for being an endless wealth of knowledge and support for us throughout the year.

Parents

Our family have had a relationship with Rainbow for nearly 3 years with both our daughters attending the Long Day Care service.

It was an easy decision for us to send our girls to Rainbow – we were drawn to the great outdoor space, the higher than required educator to children ratio, and the number of educators who are qualified early childhood teachers.

It is also a true not-for-profit Childcare Centre with a focus on investing in the children’s education program and service.

We have always found the educators responsive and approachable and to truly care about the children. They work very hard to make the program enjoyable and engaging for the children on a daily basis.

Our eldest daughter has just completed the preschool program and is very confident and well prepared for her transition to Kindergarten. She will greatly miss her Rainbow friends and teachers.

We would highly recommend Rainbow Children’s Centre to other parents.

Get in Touch. We look forward to hear from you soon
